Going “glocal” is the theme for the Black Belt Stockholm Songwriting Camp held 2019, October 11 – 13. As usual with a Black Belt Songwriting Camp, people join remotely from all over the world, but this time there is also the possibility to participate on-site, in Stockholm Sweden.
To add some weirdness to this equation we are flying in the rising singer/songwriter star Dhruv Visvanath from New Delhi, India. Among other things, Dhruv has been endorsed by Rolling Stone Magazine India, and put on a list of the worlds best “under 30 guitarists” by prestigious Acoustic Guitar Magazine USA. Listen to his percussive guitar-playing in songs like Jungle, Wild or Four.
Here’s the schedule:
| Friday 11 | We gather, on-site in the Music studio (district: Gamla Stan – the old own) and on-line at 14:00 local time (12:00 UTC) for start up meeting. This is when you get to know your team mates, and a chance to discuss what to write together. |
| Saturday 12 | A whole day of songwriting, and a chance of hanging out in Saturday night Stockholm with new friends. |
| Sunday 13 | Another intense day of songwriting and a wrapping up of the camp at 16:00 local time. Everyone is then welcome to restaurant Engelen in Old Town Stockholm, where Dhrev is performing at 17:00. |
At this camp, we will be adding all the tracks in the wonderful Swedish-developed software Soundtrap. An easy to use online DAW which also has some really good remote collaboration features.
